Grace Tea Room offers an intimate tea for friends, a stylish hen party, a special celebration, or a children's party to a wedding reception, they can cater to any occasion. They provide food for everyone and cater for dietary requirements and allergies.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We run a vintage tea room in Ellesmere Port where we provide food for everyone. Due to demand, we now deliver our afternoon teas within a 10 mile radius and cater for events from small get togethers, business lunches, to large weddings. All our cakes and scones are made by us in our kitchen, many to recipes we've developed ourselves. We cater for dietary requirements including gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, low sugar and low carb. We make our own gluten-free bread to our own recipe and it actually tastes nice!
We make a wide range of traditional cakes but also continually develop cakes to our own recipes. All our food is prepared using the finest ingredients. We only use good quality teas such as Twinings. Our coffee beans are Fair Trade Columbian and are roasted for us by a local speciality coffee roaster.
We have acquired enough beautiful vintage china and cutlery to enable us to cater for large weddings. Our china is available to hire for celebrations of any size and we do all the washing up!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Grace Tea Room is owned and run by mum and daughter Lizzie & Cat. Lizzie took voluntary redundancy from her job as a business improvement specialist to indulge her love of creating cakes to open a tea room. Our town needed somewhere lovely where people could meet up and enjoy good quality homemade food and Lizzie is a very talented cook. Cat has a degree in Interior Design and having designed the tea room, looks after the maintenance side.
We started in 2017 by renting a former cafe and converting it into a vintage-style tea room. During the pandemic, we started a delivery service supplying Afternoon Tea in a Box which was hugely popular and the service continues to this day. In 2020, we bought a large building in the centre of town with it's own car park and large garden. It had been an estate agent's office and converted it into a spacious tea room and tea garden.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We are new to Add to Event. We joined when we extended our service to include catering for weddings and have already started to get bookings. We are focusing solely on what we do best - afternoon tea made with top quality ingredients and Lizzie's amazing cakes served in style on our vintage china. It works well for weddings where a large number of guests have to be served at the same time. Guests with dietary requirements and allergies can be confident that the food is suitable for them as we label individual cake stands with their names.
