What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order for us to give an accurate and comprehensive quote there are multiple factors to consider
The type of event is hugely important - it means we can offer examples of previous work we've completed that might be relevant to the client. Based on our expertise within the industry we can also offer advice on trending colour schemes.
Estimated budget of client - this allows us to better advise on the level of styling we can provide and also if adjustments need to be made.
The final and most important information we need is the venue - if you have any floor plans this is very useful - whether your event will be indoors, outdoors or in a marquee can make a huge difference to what we as decorators need to bring with us to ensure your event is perfect!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
As the one of the region's leading decorators and trainers for other artists/stylist I believe I can provide 2 crucial areas that customers need to look for,
Are they insured? In the event world most people are insured through either Nabas or BAPIA (there are other independents) But this is integral! Insurance protects you and them!
Are they sending you their own work or someone else's? If they can't give an example of work they have completed to a high standard - this in my opinion raises red flags - in this situation, I personally create a digital mock up or show examples in my own style. In sending others work you may find the result they produce isn't the same, the attention to detail or the standard may not be what you hoped for.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started Bear Balloons in 2021 after my son's 6th Birthday. I've always been the one in my day jobs in charge of running events or organising launch days - so the transition to event decor was a no-brainer!
We started offering smaller displays and rapidly grew to offering large bespoke setups.
We now spent 2 years becoming a household name - rising high in that time and winning 3 awards with a 4th nomination just announced!

I had the pleasure of being chosen for an incredible lady's birthday - she was the life of the party - before the party began!
The planning firm who booked us initially needed a silver sequin wall to match a disco/glitz theme requested by a client.
We created a luxe corner wall with balloons included in the pricing
