What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to give an honest reasonable quote with no added extras, we ideally need to know the amount of children attending, a brief explanation of the event and details of the venue, whether the event will be held inside or out, and what access/parking facilities are available, as this will determine any travel or parking costs that need to be included within the quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, enquire about the entertainment on offer and what is included within the price. It may also be wise to enquire as to how long it takes to set up, and will any equipment eg: tables/chairs need to be supplied, and lastly perhaps ask how an entertainer would deal with an unruly child, this will give you an indication of how your entertainer will interact with children/guests.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Nessy's Novelty Balloon Factory came about after working with children with challenging behaviours for some time. The therapeutic side for myself and the children, it would keep the children's attention and always put a smile on their faces. I had not realised I was so artistic and was able to make mostly anything, so I decided that this was the way to go to have a rewarding job that put a smile on people's faces. The funny thing was I realised it was not just children that enjoyed it but adults too!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

What can I say, I am very lucky to have been chosen on so many occasions,. I have met some wonderful people and have enjoyed every moment. One comes to mind - it was not even a party but a school fete in Bromley. I was chosen to make the school logo out of balloons, and when I arrived everyone was so welcoming with the children running over due to being amazed by the logo. To see the logo in pride of place with everyone taking pictures was great. I would have no problem in recommending Add to Event as this a great platform that can place your business further afield and to more of an audience.
