What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to allow us to offer a comprehensive quote to our customers, we need some general information which includes the event date, a summary of the type of event being hosted (30th Birthday, Wedding etc.), the duration of the event, an estimate of the number of guests, a venue if already selected and it's location if it's an indoor or outdoor event. If we have this information it is possible for us to give an accurate and competitive quote based on variables like the equipment needed and the timings from setup to final pack down.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you look at hiring a mobile disco supplier it is important to look at what that company is offering in their disco packages, the quality can vary greatly, especially with the grade of lighting and sound equipment. A good supplier should be offering you a professional events grade equipment including sound and lighting systems easily capable for the size of the venue you have in mind, and a professional DJ that knows how to get people on the dance floor and hopefully keep them there, the DJ is all-important to creating the atmosphere for your event. Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Select Mobile Disco Hire (based in Cambridge UK) was born from the love and passion of music in all it's genres and styles, also from Dj'ing in local bars and clubs spanning some 30 years. Our founder started DJ'ing in the 90s and this passion for music and DJ'ing took her up and down the United Kingdom and abroad with nightclub residences in Brighton, London, Cambridge, Norwich and even in the legendary location of Ibiza. Having started out with local mobile disco events back in the '90s but heading more into a club DJ'ing environment we have come back to the roots of what we love which is music in all genres and the love to playing for a wider age range of people see's us back more recently to the events business and mobile disco hire.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
It's been a bit of a whirlwind! We have had plenty of bookings now through Add To Event and are extremely happy with this platform and the variety of events that we are able to be considered for are great. A most recent event was a joint 30th birthday party which was held at a really nice pub in Stevenage. We did our usual planning, and the client supplied music requests through our website's online event planner system, we took an impressive sound and light setup more than capable of the venue size and we created a suitable playlist as a guide for the music the clients wanted based on their request list.
