What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To assist in providing you with a quotation, ideally, I would need to know the event date, the location, a brief overview the type of event you are organising, and the number of guests attending. Once I have this information I can give you a quotation and suggestions for my various additional services that may be of interest. My event experience means as well as providing standard DJ packages for smaller events, I can also supply more elaborate setups for larger events, and photobooths, LED dancefloors, uplights, giant LED letters and even Silent Discos.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If your a customer looking for a DJ the easiest thing to do is look for the cheapest as 'all DJs are the same'. If you've ever heard a bad DJ you'll know that not all DJs are the same! When you get a reply to your enquiry read it through and see if what they've written gives you an idea about who they are and what music they play, or have they just gone for a cheap price? Do they have basic requirements such as Public Liability Insurance and is their equipment PAT Tested? This will tell you they class themselves as professional and they take care of their equipment. Shortlist 3 replies that you think meet your needs and have a chat. Most of the time if you talk with the supplier and they are a bit over your budget they will be happy to negotiate with you.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have over 20 years of experience of deejaying at numerous clubs, bars, hotels and events and know what it takes to make a great party! I set up my company due to demand for my DJ service and glad to say I have built a very good reputation over the years. I pride myself on my professional manner and friendly service. I have a huge library of music spanning decades of the best Club Classics and Party Anthems to keep any dancefloor rocking! My equipment is PAT Tested and I am covered with £10m Public Liability Insurance for maximum cover.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have been very pleased with the quality of bookings I have had through Add to Event this year. They have been varied, from school discos to corporate events. The event that stands out was a husband that was booking a DJ for his wife's 40th birthday at their home. After sending him a quotation, I followed up a couple of days later and we had a good chat ending with him making a booking. The evening was a great success with the birthday girl and her guests having a great time. The husband got a lot of brownie points for hiring the perfect DJ and was kind enough to even leave a review for me.
