What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
You can never provide too much information so please add anything you feel is relevant.
To provide an accurate quotation the minimum bits of information we will need to know include - The date and location of your event. The time you would like the music to start and finish. Also how many people you think will attend?
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Try to have a think about what level of service and expertise you would like for your event and communicate that in your job description
Not All DJs have the same level of service and experience.
A local hobbiest DJ will more than likely be more cost-effective compared to a full-time national DJ.
Try to find out how long they have been a professional. If they carry insurance and have their equipment PAT tested. What areas they cover?
Do they have any experience in club, wedding, corporate, party, bar or radio events.
Most DJs should be able to provide you with a biography giving you an insight into their DJ history.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I've been running Multiplex Decks since August 2021. But have been DJ-ing for well over 20 years.
I am well rounded DJ, with experience of playing at many different types of events.
I've been fortunate enough to DJ across the USA, Europe & the UK.
The types of events I have experience in include - Weddings, Birthday Parties, Corporate Events, Festivals, Christenings, Award Shows, House Parties, Night Clubs, Bars and many a Christmas Party.
Over the years i have been lucky enough to be a part of some great events. I have fond memories of dj sets at big festivals like Boardmasters, Bugjam. Trade shows at Earls Court, Sandown Racecourse, Brands Hatch and Santapod to name a few.
I've played gigs at the top of mountain ski resorts, pool parties by the beach and everything inbetween!
For the last 5 or so years I have been working for DJ agencies, many bookings came in for me on the wedding scene and the feedback from clients was always top-notch.
I would regularly hear that a great night was had by all, that I am personable and approachable, I was great behind the decks and had fantastic song choice with brilliant mixing, that my customer service was second to none.
As such I figured it was time for me to spread my wings and launch my own company.
So here I am. :)

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
This last year has been a whirlwind for me. I've been busier than I expected before I set the business up. One of the main reasons for that is Add to Event.
There have been so many outstanding events and it's really difficult to have to choose just one to talk about. One that brings back very fond memories is when I was DJ-ing on a rooftop terrace on one of the tallest buildings in Manchester during our glorious summer of 2022. The sunset is one that will last in my memory for years to come.
