With entertaining set-lists suitable for a wide range of events including Private Parties, Milestone Birthdays, Weddings and Corporate Functions, Revival is a five-piece collective that aims to deliver great music that will get any crowd up on their feet dancing, to give you and your guests a great musical experience.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We would be delighted to submit our quotation, but it would be very helpful to understand the type of event you are hosting, the anticipated number of guests, and the type of venue. Typically, events held in a Marquee, or outside venue differ from those held in a hotel function room, Village Hall, or Community Centre. We can cater for any venue, as we have all equipment available, including portable staging, and lighting gantry for marquee or outside events.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Before you hire a band for your event, you’ll need to make sure you get the band that suits your requirements and the guest demographic.

Tip! Make sure you book your band well in advance, as the better bands often have a pretty full diary

FEE
This should be obvious but you have to find out how much they charge and make sure they are within your budget, and if there may be any extra fees that may arise.
Extra fees can be anything from mileage, refreshments, extra band members, or difficulty in getting to the venue. They may charge extra if they have to carry equipment upstairs or fit into a small space.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Ask about previous events they have performed at, and to submit any reviews or recommendations

THE TYPE OF MUSIC
Asking about the types of music is important. Depending on the event, it’s important to know what to expect. Will there be dancing? Is it a casual event or a formal dinner? Do you want a particular genre? This can be very important. Make sure they play the type of music that is appropriate for the event and the guests.

SPACE REQUIRED
You need to know the Footprint of the band. Typically a 5/6 piece Rock ‘n’ Roll band will require more space than a Jazz Quartet. They may also require a separate space they can get changed, or have a break. Worthwhile asking the venue about this beforehand.

SET UP AND TAKE DOWN
How long do they need to get ready to perform? For example, if your event is set to start at 8 pm, they may need to be there by 4 or 5pm to get all their equipment set up. It looks better to have the guests arrive when everything is in its place.
Take down time is important because the venue may close before they have a chance to get everything out and load the van.

SOUND CHECK
The Sound Check can be critical with a large band, so it’s better to have the band arrive early so that they can conduct the Sound Check before the guests arrive.

CANCELLATION
Always find out what happens if either party has to cancel. Your event may run into problems, or they may have a band member come down ill. It’s always smart to have a plan B in place and know about these unforeseen events happening.
See if there is a refund or partial refund in place if it’s them or if they can provide another band or band member. Also, if you have to cancel due to circumstances beyond your control, make sure you find out if they will refund the deposit.

ANY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ask about these requirements before agreeing to hire a band. The band shouldn’t make unreasonable requests, but It’s standard to provide breaks, refreshments, and space for them to take a break.

The Revival Band UK was formed in the Summer of 2010 by like-minded musicians with a love for ‘60s ‘70s and ‘80s Rock and Roll music. Over the past decade or so, we have performed at over 150 events including Private Parties, Corporate Events, Weddings and even Christenings! Our focus is on ensuring that the client receives the performance and result they expect.
