What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For Safari to provide a comprehensive quote, we need the event date, a brief description of the type of event they are hosting, the number of guests, and the location. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to design a menu suitable to you, your guests and your budget. Safari are experts at making an event work no matter how difficult it might seem.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When hiring a BBQ caterer, make sure to try and see the caterer in action before confirming the job. Ask them about previous jobs and recommendations from previous clients and always check the reference out. Ask the caterer if you can sample the menu, something that looks good on paper may not be exactly what you want on the night, any good caterer will have no problem in inviting you to try before you buy. Finally make sure all their paperwork is in order such as insurances, hygiene rating, etc.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Safari Steak Burgers was established to cater for alternative lifestyle choices be it due to health reasons or a personal choice we ensure everyone who attends an event can get fed. After many years of rewarding comments from customers and event organisers we decided in late 2014 to start looking towards opening a family restaurant. The deal was done in January 2015 with our Family Style Restaurant "Safari Grill" opening on the 23rd of February 2015. We decided at the beginning we would open a family style restaurant with the emphasis being on quality meals and great value for money and above all proper customer service.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had a good few events with Add to Event. One recent job I had, the client had a designated time of two hours to feed 160 guests with full service. This event was in a work environment and had to be co-ordinated perfectly as the business had to continue working throughout service. We arrived one hour before service, fired up the BBQ and set about preparing the self service salad buffet. The client was extremely impressed and everyone was back in work at their designated time.
