What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For myself, as a catering business to provide a comprehensive quote we first ask whether there is a budget that you are working within as a customer. We also need to know what your requirements are whether it is a cold or hot buffet, finger food or a completely bespoke buffet which we work together on. Venues and dates will also be asked at the beginning as well as the number of guests you are entertaining. As a Catering business ourselves we offer delivery or allow the customer to collect without it affecting the price.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly there would be a few checks that I would advise, the first would be whether the business you've chosen is registered and rated in their local council. as a customer looking for an event to be catered for I'd always rely on customer reviews, compliments, what the business has to offer and if there is a portfolio you can view and whether the provider can give thorough information in regards to their choice of work.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Setting up my own catering business/cafe has always been a dream I've always wanted to achieve and now I am living my best life. During my time out of college over 10 years ago, I have worked from the bottom as a kitchen assistant to eventually becoming a head chef with more than enough qualifications at a few establishments offering different things until I finally took the plunge to buy my own and turning it into what it is today. I enjoy the catering side especially when it comes to events as it's like an art and I believe everybody eats with their eyes before they do with their mouth and providing the customer with the best service experience I would love for myself.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had a few catering events through Add to Event and slowly I am building my portfolio on this platform which is an excellent idea as it isn't just for businesses to put themselves out there but also for the customers to request what they want too. I have recommended other catering businesses to use Add to Event to build themselves up within the catering world and to set themselves up with a portfolio.
One booking I have had from this platform is catering for a Christmas party for a residential home, it was for a finger buffet which when reading the feedback was thoroughly enjoyed by both residents and staff members and we have since kept in touch with the residential home.
