With their experience and insight, they suggest a few tips for when looking to hire your own caterer for a special event.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order for me to provide an accurate quote, I require the event date, a summary of the event, number of guests attending, address of the venue and an outline of what you’re looking for design-wise.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you check photos of their previous work and read reviews. Double-check that they have insurance and that they’re fully registered to run a food business and hold a valid food safety and hygiene certificate. If it is a big event then ask if they offer a consultation so you can sample their wares. Check that they cover your area or that you’re able to get to them to collect your cake. Rapport is very important so try to ask questions and be inquisitive.

Bake To The Future was born from my passion for baking and decorating cakes. I spent 4 years making cakes for my friends and family before I decided to start a business. I spent over 10 years working in the hospitality industry so my combination of customer service and food industry experience with my passion for cakes means that I’m absolutely dedicated to making every order to the very best of my abilities and ensuring that every customer receives the best service and a cake that they won’t ever forget.
