Kake 'O' Liscious Studio Tamworth is a home-based celebration cake studio & doggie bakery providing cake designs for both humans and canines throughout Warwickshire and beyond. Services include bespoke celebration cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, and confectionery - as well as various dog biscuits and cakes. All cakes are completely bespoke, in line with theme, design, colour scheme and dietary requirements.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For the Studio to provide a comprehensive quote, ideally we need to know the event date/type being hosted, number of guests, potential venue (indoor/outdoor) and whether or not there is a theme & colour scheme. With this information and over 20 years of experience we can provide a bespoke, cost effective quote and a high quality cake!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider how many years they have been creating their Cake Designs, if they hold insurance, H&S Rating and a Food Hygiene Certificate. In addition, can they provide a gallery of Cake Design ideas for you in the form of a Storyboard or Portfolio, what flavours are available for both cake & frosting, and if they charge for delivery/set-up? With regards to Doggie treats/goodies - are they vet-approved and can they cater for special dietary requirements? Same for human Cake Designs!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We have a background in marketing and events, as well as being a great artist and mural painter. Kake 'O' Liscious Studio came about from a love for cakes and catering from the early age of 5 when we used to ring up family friends and say please come round for tea and hold a tea party, bringing lots of scrumptious cakes and goodies on a posh trolley cart! I love to provide inventive ideas for clients and with client service which is second to none, many of my clients have said I go above and beyond what they have asked for and provide additional advice and ideas beyond just the Cake Design, especially for weddings! Having the Doggie Bakery now as a bolt-on sister business gives us even more of a chance to use our creative flair for the doggie fraternity. I am so passionate about what I do and providing the ultimate service it is untrue and I will go to the extreme to make clients truly happy and their event a very memorable one!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Well where do I start!? I've had a number of orders via Add to Event, the most memorable I think would be a Star Wars Themed Birthday Party. I sent over a Storyboard (free of course!) to her and provided designs and advice. She was so surprised when I designed a Cupcake Tower for her little boy with Darth Vader and Stormtrooper designed cupcakes with actual masks on each cake. These were placed into a Tower and then I made a cloak to go around the tower, but kept open at the front to display the cakes. I produced a handmade Darth Vader Mask which was placed at the top of the Tower above the Cloak and an extra surprise was the Lightsaber gift for her little boy. She cried with delight as she was so surprised and thrilled at the design, which she really did not expect and her review for it was exceptional, especially the fact that I had gone way beyond what she expected, which I do with all my Cake Designs! Many of the guests have since booked birthday, engagement and wedding cakes with the Studio and some have now started to buy from the Della May Doggie Bakery, including doggie birthday cakes! I promote Add to Event to friends and have brought on board more clients for them, it is good to grow with this type of referral service as the Studio and Bakery grow themselves! Thanks Add to Event!
