Yaardhut is a well-established Jamaican Catering Service based in the UK, founded by Jermaine and Gemma in 2018. They offer a traditional range of Jamaican food that is proudly served from an incredible Food Truck! They have catered and shared all their delicious food at many food and music festivals as well as public events, weddings, parties, corporate meetings, funerals and many more.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
The information we would like the client to provide us with is the date and location the event will take place.
The arrival and finishing time for our service, their budget, number of guests attending, any dietary or allergens we need to be aware of.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ensure that they have researched the company, by accessing google and seeing the caterer's past reviews can ensure booking with the caterer you're sure to get an amazing experience.
They should also bear in mind that not all reviews are valid and it's best to speak directly to the caterer to get more of an understanding of the service they can provide.
It is always best to throw as many questions you have at the caterer so they have more of an understanding about your event and the best package they can offer that will suit your event.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Yaardhut was created because of the birth of our beautiful daughter, as a Jamaican {Jermaine} growing up cooking has always been in my family. Passing down from my dad, my grandmother and also my mother.
I wanted to share the authenticity and tradition with people who have never tasted Jamaican food and people who just love the cuisine.
Cooking is something that comes from passion and with love.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We haven't had any bookings yet through Add to Event as we are new to the platform but I know that is going to change soon. Once changed we will have all the stories to share.
We have done many successful events over the years. We recently catered at Farnborough Aerospace feeding all the office staff and passers-by.
It was amazing because the staff enjoy the food so much that they end up buying extras to take home for dinner.
We hope to share our experience from Add to Event very soon.
