What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide the best quality service, we need to know exactly what kind of event the client is organising. We need to know the date, the time, the location of the event and an estimated budget. What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would always recommend that you look at the example of past work as well as the testimonials/reviews. The services we offer are of a particular style and other people may offer something similar so its essential you check what style works for you or your event. The other thing I always say is that the cheapest option is not always the best option and the most expensive option does not mean guaranteed success. Also, do not be afraid to ask if you're working on a budget as in most cases people will be willing to make a small compromise.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I studied to be an illustrator and have always been fascinated with caricatures but it was mainly a hobby that that I just enjoyed in my free time. After University I started sketching people on public transport and other public places and soon realised that other people were just as fascinated as I was. People started asking me to draw at their events and do commission for them. I knew there were other people offering the same service so I created an ethos with in my work that would make my service stand out from the crowd. My aim is not to please my customers, my aim is WOW them, and so WOW group studio was born.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has been a wonderful platform for me to build my business. I have had a number of bookings through this with many memorable bookings over the last 2 years. It's very difficult to pick one out but there are a few that stand out. I drew at a surprise 75th birthday celebration in January 2016 which was in London and it was just really lovely to be part of a wonderful celebration for a wonderful person who was loved by so many people. There were over 120 people at the golf club where the party was held and I remember when the birthday boy saw the pre-drawn colour caricature I had drawn for him prior to the event and he became a bit overwhelmed with emotion. He mentioned in his speech that he 'wasn't aware that he was loved my so many people'. I drew about 35 people on the day and everyone was very positive with their feedback. People of all ages were laughing hysterically at the caricatures and the whole atmosphere was just so lovely to be a part of.
