What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For me to give an accurate fee for your event booking I would need to have as much information about the hire as possible.
As well as the event date I would need to know exactly how many hours you would need me for, the venue address, if there is enough accessibility for my equipment, how many guests you would like me to draw and what details you would like included in the drawings ( event date and title printed on the paper).
I am happy to do special requests, which would normally come to an extra fee. So pre-drawn caricature portraits, printed logos on the paper, additional colour included in the drawings and a special theme added to the portraits. For example, drawing each guest like a superhero.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It is good to do some research about specifically what you are looking for. See what is available near you and if there is competitive pricing that could work to your advantage.
Of course, overall, you want the best services for your event so always trust reviews and portfolio work.
Also, enquire and ask a lot of questions. The more information you can find out the better.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have always been passionate about drawing and art. I attended Art school and studied animation at university so it was destined for me to carve a living out of what I love to do.
I have also worked as a caricaturist at the well know Chessington World of Adventures resort in Surrey as well as drawing at the London Eye in Waterloo. I have drawn at numerous school fairs, Christmas fairs, weddings and parties so I have numerous years of experience doing my job.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have been fortunate to have been booked numerous times through the 'Add to Event' site and, thankfully, had nothing but praise and excellent feedback from my clients. One particular party I draw at was a superhero themed birthday party for a 5 year old.
I love superheroes and the Marvel franchise so it was a real treat for me.
The kids were so enchanted by the drawing process and the parents loved the pictures. They were asking for my business cards for their own future kids parties.
It's always a pleasure to surprise people with what I do because they never expect to see a caricaturist at a party event and how people want one done as soon as I have finished drawing someone else is quite a compliment.
I love what I do, even with the stress and difficult aspect of the job, it is still a joy to do.
