What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For EllieJade's Kitchen to provide a comprehensive quote, we would require a brief summary of the event, the number of guests, the event date, event location, if the client required staff for serving and most importantly the cuisine or type of food required. Once all this information is known, EJK will design a bespoke menu for the client along with a quote. Each quote is dependent on the criteria listed above.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I believe customer service is one of the most important aspects, besides the food. If the provider makes the process simple and easy, choosing a caterer will be an enjoyable process. I would advise customers to ensure they hire caterers who personalise the menu to suit their exact needs. Most importantly, ask the provider about their food, possibly a little background about their catering and the variety of cuisines they can offer. You may start with one idea then develop the idea into something really special!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

EllieJade's Kitchen is run by an Associate Nutritionist with a huge passion for all things food! After several years of food blogging and completing a degree in Nutrition, I decided to take the step into catering for others on a larger scale using the knowledge I'd learnt. We pride ourself on customer service as I believe it is an integral part of a business.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I recently catered for a joint family birthday party (father and son) in an outside marquee for 70 guests. EllieJade's Kitchen provided mains, desserts, cheese and a birthday cake, along with extra staff members for welcoming drinks on arrival.
Both the client and the guests gave lovely feedback, with the most amazing review from the client! It couldn't have gone any better!
I have been recommending Add to Event to various people, both suppliers and customers. The ease at which you can quote clients makes the process so simple. I especially like the review section as this allows clients to gain more perspective on suppliers from past customers.
