Glasgourmet Catering and Events
Glasgourmet has been providing top quality event catering since January 2017 and they amassed some really useful experience in that time. Here they share some of that knowledge and what you should look for in a potential supplier.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a full quote to a customer it is extremely helpful to have as much information as possible. An idea of the style of food required and perhaps some favourite dishes that they would like featured. Also estimated numbers. the type of event and the date of the event and possible venue. From this we can put together a selection of menus and offer our most competitive prices.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would recommend asking the provider to give you a wide selection of menus and prices to review. Also looking at reviews from their past events is also a good indication of customer satisfaction. Finally, ensuring your brief is as detailed as possible to ensure you get the right caterer for your event.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Glasgourmet was founded in January of 2017 with the mission to provide really high quality, tasty and exciting seasonal food for functions and events of all types. Owned and operated by Iain McMaster who was last head chef of the exclusive Western club restaurant, Urban bar and brasserie and The Corinthian among others. Glasgourmet delivers great service, delicious food and our undivivided attention from your booking right through to completion.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event has been a great platform for us since we joined in 2018. We receive a real variety of proposals to caterer parties, corporate events and weddings. We recently catered a leaving party at a top Glasgow law firm through Add to Event - it was for 100 people in their sixth floor boardroom. They selected a large hot and cold buffet with some really stunning dishes which was well received and a pleasure to cater!
