Sue's Bakery are a North London based caterers. Here they share some top tips on what you need to ask any potential caterer and a bit about why they got started in the catering industry and what it means to them.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Ideally, a comprehensive quote will be easier to provide when the clients provide the following:
- Date of event
- Number of guests attending
- Type of food needed i.e. hot/cold food, buffet etc.
- Event address
- Type of service e.g. drop off service only, staff requirements, food & on site service.. etc
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I'd ask the provider the specifics of the service being offered. For example, in a buffet what type of food is available for the menu. Making specific requests relating to allergies and eating choices (such as vegan) very clear from the beginning.
Find out if they have any equipment that may make the experience more effecient as well as enquiring about any further details that may enhance the overall experience.
Relative experience is also very important, so I'll seek out what similar events have been catered to in the past.

The company was started over 25 years ago, founded on a passion for tasty baking and catering for awesome events.
Food is a fundamental human necessity and few things fill the heart with joy like a delicious meal or cake.

One of our largest events as a business was hosted through this website.
We had an event hosting a whole company's year end Christmas dinner. It was an awesome experience where we made a full buffet, served with staff and recieved a good review thereafter.
