What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For a comprehensive quote, we simply need to know the number of guests attending, The date/time and if you have any specific allergies. From there we can then build you a quote and a menu to fit your budget.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Experience is everything!
Find out about other events that the supplier has completed and pay attention to reviews! The industry is very competitive - so don't settle for bog-standard. Catering should be as much of a talking point as the event itself.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
The Barn & Mama Moos have both been at The Hop Farm village for a few years and with countless requests to provide catering to our customer's events - we decided to start touring with our food! With over 30 years of combined experience. We're customer-focused and have a strong passion for good quality food!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Our favourite booking was for a client who had his previous caterer cancel just hours before the event. We stepped in and later found the event was a charity event he was holding for a terminally ill family member - the charity was one that was close to our heart. So instead of presenting the invoice at the end of the event - we presented a cheque and a note to say the catering was on us! Money does make the world go round but that doesn't mean as a business you have to take take take.
