What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

There are a few things we need to know in order for us to provide the best possible service we can for your special event. Location, is it indoors or outdoors & how much space is available for us, what surface, is there water & electric available and any other kitchen facilities. How many guests will be attending, and if there are any dietary requirements, this will enable us to get a better idea of what we need to make your event the best.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always do your research, sometimes it’s not always the best thing to go for the cheapest option. Check the supply as adequate insurance, is registered with the council for their food hygiene rating, this can be found online. I think it’s important to have a good relationship between the client and the company so meeting up when possible to discuss requirements, take a look at the venue together so that on the day everything can run smoothly and as the client was hoping for.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

My name is Sarah Jane, I was nicked named SJ many moons ago, my parents bought a chip shop when I was 5yrs old and then moved to West Wales buying a restaurant and pub 15 years later, it was then I decided that all the catering for weddings and other events we had been doing at our family-run business was time to build my own business and is when SJs began. I met my partner a few years later and he took over my dad's role as a chef due to my dad retiring. I always knew from growing up in a fish and chip shop where my parents catered for cooperate events & weddings that I would follow suit.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I came across Add to Event not too long again so I’m fairly new to it all but I can say so far I am enjoying the platform a great deal and looking forward to it growing my business.
