What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote, we need to know the type of event such as wedding or party, the date, the venue location, wedding coordinator or planner details (if applicable), and a complete list of the items required, for example 100 chair covers, 10 table cloths.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask what services are covered in the price, if they have public liability insurance, and ask about PAT testing because some venues require a PAT certificate for the items should you would be hiring. Check out the company, their Facebook, and other details such as where they run their business from. Many event companies run from just a phone, however we have a 2000 sq ft wedding / events showroom where customers can visit and see what they'll be hiring.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Embellish Events have been in the wedding business for over a decade, supplying and dressing weddings, charity events and corporate functions, we have grown and grown securing contracts with Colchester Borough Council for dressing and styling their events at their prestige venues. We have just opened our wedding / events 'Aladdin's Cave'!
