What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a quote for your party or event, please let us know your preferred date and time and an idea of the location. If you have a character or party idea in mind, then just ask, otherwise let us know the age and sex of your child and the other children attending. If you know how many children you will be expecting, this is very helpful for us to know so we know how many entertainers we will need. For large events, festivals and fetes, please ask us about our pamper stall, character appearance and workshop packages.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would always ask first about the standard of the performers and their background. With character entertainment, children want to meet the real thing, so professional performance training is a must! Check on the website or Facebook page for photos and reviews so you can see for yourself what other parents and children like about the company. Ask about how the party will run, as a structured party package will have been tried and tested to make sure your little ones are kept engaged and entertained the whole way through the party.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Castle on the Cloud Entertainment was formed after I spent a little while working as a children's entertainer alongside my acting training. Having graduated from a degree in Musical Theatre, I have worked as a performer in children's theatre, including pantomime, Theatre in Education, fairytale shows, touring Christmas shows and family theatre venues. I wanted to bring my experience in theatre to my company, creating truly magical experiences for children as they get to meet and interact with their favourite fairytale characters as well as our own original characters. Our packages are intended to appeal to both boys and girls, so parents never have to worry about anything being 'too girly'. Our princesses love singing and sword fighting and our pirates are treasure hunters and fairy dust wishers!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Two of our flower fairies, Violet and Bluebell, visited a very special birthday girl and all of her friends for a fairy themed birthday party. All of the games and activities went down so well with the children and our performers had such a lovely time. Add to Event has been so easy to use and allows us to recommend particular packages to parents that we think would work well for their event or party. We haven't been on here for very long but already have had lots of interest and bookings and have been connected to clients in our local area. The booking form asks for most of the information you would need so it's always easy to give a quote. I have already recommended the service to others in the industry!
