What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide you with a comprehensive quote, we need a brief description about the type of party you are interested in, the potential event date that you would like, the location town/city the event will be held in plus whether it will be indoors or outdoors, and the number of people you would like to invite.

From this, we will then use our experience be able to give you our availability, what packages we offer that would suit your needs and the total price, including any travel costs (if applicable).

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Check out the most recent reviews- I know the majority of our customers leave their feedback on our Facebook Page, not on Google- so make sure to look through any social media and websites for the reviews.
Once you have decided upon an entertainer, you should visit their website and other social media pages to view the different packages they offer to ensure the service is suitable for your event and is within your budget. If the costs are not listed, make sure you ask during your initial contact with the company so that you are clear about what the price will be from the very start. Also, view any photos or videos to help make your decision.
When you contact the company, you may have to wait for up to 3 days for a reply- this is normal due to most entertainers having an alternative job alongside. Make sure to give as much detail about the event you'd like the entertainer to host- potential date and time, location, theme/activities, space of the venue. Ask about how the entertainer will manage social distancing as most companies will now have some sort of COVID policy which outline protective measures during a party.
Also, check to see if they have any discounts as most will have weekday and holiday offers.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Just 4 Kids Parties is based in Cornwall and Devon, which I have been running for over 14 years.
Back in 2006, I set up Just 4 Kids Parties in the UK, due to my extensive background in the performing arts, my love for working with children and my passion for all things Disney. Later on that year, I landed a job working in Los Angeles as a children's party entertainer with Silly Sally's Entertainment, alongside Just 4 Kids Parties. While in Los Angeles, I was extremely lucky to be able to entertain at celebrity parties. These included the children of Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler to name but a few.

Then, in May 2008, I decided it was time to move back to Devon and develop my own children's parties within the local area. The business grew tremendously, so in 2014, I hired Ellie and we ran parties together across the county. With the success of this, I expanded the business into Cornwall in 2015 and it has gone from strength to strength.
Recently, due to Covid-19, I have had to adapt to the company. Changes have included Virtual Parties, pre-recorded video messages and a new COVID Policy to outline the protective measures that we now have in place for each booking.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has provided us with lots of bookings. Our favourite has to be a dinosaur themed Pick n Mix Party we ran Cornwall. The customer had been let down by another company. So I contacted her to see if I could help. She was unsure as she didn't want to be cancelled on again. I reassured her that this wouldn't happen and showed her my most recent feedback. The party itself ran very smoothly, with all of the children enjoying themselves and lots of verbal feedback at the party too. After the party, the mum took the time to leave a fantastic review on Add to Event. I would wholeheartedly recommend Add to Event to all my entertainer friends as it is a fantastic platform to gain more customers in your local area.
