Jasmine's Magic Parties
Jasmine's Magic Parties provide children's entertainment and children's magic shows throughout Hackney and the South of England. With acts and entertainments including a colourful magic show, live rabbits, fun party games and balloon modelling, the shows can be scaled up or down to suit the ages of the children (and sometimes even adults!) involved. With past performances being held for celebrities and world leaders, Jasmine takes professionalism and delivery seriously.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order for me to provide a comprehensive quote, I'd like to have the event date, age of the children attending, estimated number of guests and postcode of the venue. It is also really helpful if you say whether it's an indoor or outdoor event and what type of event it is eg birthday party, wedding entertainment, christening or corporate event.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Before you hire a family magician or entertainer, have a quick think about the type of entertainment you need. You might need someone to take care of the entire party entertainment or you might only want an hour. Also, look for experience and professionalism and listen to the professional's advice; an experienced performer can give tips on when to provide food, what special touches that would personalise your event and what different types of entertainment they have on offer for different ages, sizes of venues etc.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I fell in love with magic years ago but never dreamt this would be my full-time vocation. I started doing parties for family and friends and it grew organically with lots and lots of recommendations and word of mouth jobs, which snowballed into something part-time and then into full-time work. I turned professional 15 years ago and really love what I do.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I had a last-minute job last week from Add to Event and it was cracking. The father had already booked a bouncy castle and face painter but suddenly realised a magician with a live rabbit would make his son's party the day before the event. His children were all thrilled and I got another booking from one of the guests at the party!
