Magician & Ventriloquist is a multi-award winning cabaret magician who provides a magic and puppet show, party games, magic workshop, circus skills workshop along with other activities. Here he shares his story and some tips on what to ask when booking a provider.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For me to provide a quote for your event; I will need to know the time and date, length of the show wanted, an approximate location, and what the event is. A rough estimate of how many guests are attending would also be helpful.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check the reviews and experience of a provider and make sure they are DBS checked.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started offering live professional stage shows in 1996. Professionally trained in theatre, I connected to the performance arts at a young age and developed my skills further. My passion for magic, circus skills and ventriloquism made me a speciality amongst my peers and my business has continued to grow.
I am fully CRB / DBS checked, with Public liability insurance. I use to be a secondary school teacher and have qualifications in that area. As a magician, I have won numerous awards including the 2017-2018 Magician of the Year. I have been performing professionally for over 20 years.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I perform over 200 shows a year and have been doing this for over 20 years. My appearance on Britains Got Talent was an experience, as was performing my one-man show, on the sold-out Buxton Opera House main stage. I have performed on school stages for over 600 children, the Salford Lowry for 3000, and even at little Timmy's Birthday party for just 5 people in their lounge. No stage is too small or big and I have experience in them all.
