What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

When quoting, ideally I am looking for the date, venue, approximate age of the children (as I have different shows to suit the varying age groups). I also need an idea of the time and length of performance required and the number of children. Is the event open to the public or a private party and is it an indoor/outdoor event? I like to know if I will be able to park close by to unload my equipment (as some of it is quite heavy) and also what time I will be able to access the venue (ideally 40/50 minutes prior to commencement if possible).

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Testimonials are important and I would ask for these when making a decision. As much information as possible about the service/product with a brief outline and if there is some flexibility regarding timings. Can the service be themed to the event?

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I was fascinated with magic and ventriloquism as a child and was lucky to have parents and friends in the entertainment industry from whom I learned a lot. I also trained as a dancer and actress and have always incorporated some of these skills into my performances. I started my business in a small way when I was 16 years old and have been performing shows for family audiences and children's events ever since. I'm at my happiest when working with children and I have a natural rapport with them. I continue to change, add new material and vary my shows so that I can return with something "new" for repeat bookings.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
