Make It So Coffee Ltd provides a mobile coffee pick-up truck serving out of this world coffee, cakes and cold drinks. They aim to be as sustainable as possible and to that aim, use recyclable, biodegradable cups and compostable lids and they serve Oat, Coconut and Soya milk as an alternative to dairy.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

So many requests are very light on details for a proper quote to be given. For me, it is all about the number of people I will be serving and then I can tailor the quote appropriately. Too often I have to tease the full details out. I appreciate this is sometimes hard to do but work with me, call me, I am here to help you secure the best coffee going for your event!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

So many coffee bars out there it can be hard to work out what you need. Ask yourself, are you after just quick filter coffee or are you after an experience? Do your clients want the best experience and who can offer that? Do you want something out of the ordinary? When looking through the quotes, look for the ones who know the coffee, who take the time to give you information and do look at their websites/social media pages as this can give you a much better feel for them. The last piece of advice I would give is even if you don't choose us, a one-line to say you've gone with someone else is so helpful.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

For me, coffee has always been my lifeblood! It was that cup of black that kept me going through teenagery into adulthood but I always thought something was missing. I was a latte drinker up to about 7 years ago, I then had a Cortado in Spain and my mind was blown. Suddenly being able to really taste the coffee made so much more sense than a milky flavoured drink. And so the route to Make It So Coffee was born.
I am on a mission to disrupt people's coffee drinking habits from drinks that are so large and full of milk/water that the coffee gets lost to a smaller drink that enhances the coffee, shows off the flavours and really stands out from any other coffee out there. This coffee is truly special, from a small farm in Sicily, wood-roasted to give it a unique woody, chocolatey flavour and a caffeine kick, yet mellow in taste.

I do all types of hot coffee, Latte, Cappuccino, Cortado, Macchiato, Flat White, Americano, Mocha and of course, Espresso. To complement these, flapjacks, brownies, muffins and caramel slices. I can swap these as required for events and also can discuss anything specific like pastries. Other drinks are my amazing Hot Chocolate, plenty of flavours of tea and cold drinks. All served from the truck which is a masterpiece to behold!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

So I've had several bookings now through the website and all of them have been different showcasing my ability to cater to any event. I have done a corporate event (which they have rebooked me for another event!), a TV filming event but the one that stands out the most was a late booking for a Napoleonic Re-enactment event! This was arranged the last thing on a Friday night for the next day and was absolutely amazing! Watching several hundred people have a mock battle was insane and all the players were very happy that they had real coffee on hand and not mud and nettles! I have recommended Add to Event to several of my fellow market stalls as well on the markets I frequent and I really hope to keep growing on the platform.
