Espresso Eccellente provide top quality fresh ground espresso coffee, Twinings teas, luxury hot chocolate, milkshakes and San Pelligrino fruit & mineral waters throughout Gwynedd and the rest of Wales. All coffees are bespoke to the individual customer, with 100% Arabica beans being ground on demand to match the specific drinker. All milk is locally produced, and all beverages are served from their renovated Mercedes Vito 113CDi which hosts both water and power supply - enabling it to be almost entirely self-sufficient.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We need to know the location of the event and if it's indoor or outdoor. To provide an accurate quote, we need to know how many guests (or ideally drinks/servings), any additional items such as brownies/flapjacks, what is their budget per head or total budget for the service at their event?
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask the provider to supply a drinks menu, so the client can see what's on offer. Check what the standard of the ingredients are. I use Illy or Kimbo, premium brands with 100% Arabica beans. What experience does the vendor have and what events have they attended?
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have always loved coffee but thought I could do better than the high-street chains producing the product en-masse. A career change provided an opportunity. I purchased and digested "The World Atlas of Coffee" by James Hoffman and thought "Right! I'm going to do this!" and set out make the best - now I have a passion for creating the best-tasting coffee. People pay with their hard-earned cash, so it's always a privilege to serve them great coffee!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have not had one yet. Add to Event was recommended by a friend, also in the catering business. He has had a good experience, so I thought it was worth a shot! So far, so good. I have already received two new requests which I'm replying to today!
