Imagine That Coffee is a Bristol-based mobile coffee shop providing organic coffee roasted locally served from their lovingly converted horsebox trailer 'Trevor’. Also supplied are tea, herbal tea, soft drinks and a range of organic snacks. They are the perfect people to give advice on hiring a coffee bar, which they kindly do here!

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a quote we need to know the date of the event, a brief description of the event, an estimated number of guests and whether the event it private or public. It also helps to know whether or not the event planner has run the same or similar events in the past. Using these details we can provide an accurate quote which we will then break down in our message to the customer.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Most importantly ask about the desired product i.e. a detailed description of the menu and prices. With coffee, it's also lovely to know where the coffee has come from and whether it has any certifications. For example, our coffee is organic and sourced via direct trade - which means the roastery work directly with the farmers who are paid much more fairly as a consequence. A nice little nugget to help you make your choice! I would also ask about the businesses efforts in sustainability and what their core values are. Finally, I would ask if they can do anything to personalise/tailor their offering to fit the event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Hi! We're Dan and Lucy and we started Imagine That Coffee in 2019 due to a passion for markets, festivals, street food and ...you guessed it.... coffee. We were walking around a market one day and Lucy said to Dan "If you had a market stall, what would you sell?" 6 months later we opened the rustic wooden hatches on our rather lovely converted horsebox trailer, aka Trevor. We have spent our first summer in the trade working various events in and around Bristol and are now also looking for a regular pitch to trade during the week. Our core values are sustainability, independent and community. We also have a focus on organic produce - even our ever so lovely beans are organic. We're open to working all kinds of events, no matter how big or small we'd love to hear from you.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We are fairly new to the trade so have only worked 2 Add to Event bookings thus far, the first being a celebration of a famous bridge in Bristol. We worked in a lovely 'Bristol' setting with a view of the suspension bridge on a sunny Saturday and Sunday in September. The event was free to attend so we had good footfall throughout the weekend. We have also kept in touch with the organiser who was very happy that we came along and fuelled the fun with our coffee and bites. He is very keen to book us again for future events.
