What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To be able to provide a comprehensive quote there is always the usual questions, Date, Venue, Service, Budget. At DCS the most important part for us when doing a big job is the first meeting. To make sure that you have that bond with the client so that they know they can trust you to deliver.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My key advice is that competitors may be cheaper but why? There are a lot of Caterers out there and many offer a wide range of services but are they professional in them? I find there are a lot of companies that offer these services cheaply as they do them as secondary incomes or weekend work so they may not have all the insurances and paperwork.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
My Mother was a Chef and my Father ran pubs so it was in my blood. Its all I have ever known and done. And in Catering, I have been able to cater to many famous people and see the world. Not many careers can say the same thing. No 2 days or jobs are the same in our industry as they say it makes for an exciting life.
