What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to get an accurate quotation we require a few different pieces of information. This includes the date, time and location of the event. This allows us to check availability. Next we require the estimated number of guests and the type of set-up they require (indoor or outdoor). We can then give them an accurate quotation.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Try and be as detailed as possible - the more detailed you are, the quicker and more accurate information the supplier will provide you with. Don't be afraid to ask for reviews or testimonials as most experienced providers will have these on hand. Shop around and don't just go on price, there are lots of providers out there - don't just get one quote and don't just go for the cheapest. Always weigh up the price against the quality.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Flipping Crepes was set up almost 8 years ago and started via mobile kiosks in a number of shopping centers throughout Northern Ireland. We then decided to focus on our events market and now boast 3 live indoor crepe bars, marquees and a catering trailer. Also in 2015 we opened our first crepe and milkshake bar in Carrickfergus.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have had lots of requests through Add to Event - more and more keep coming! At first I thought it was only for mainland England but more and more people seem to be using it all over Northern Ireland. We have provided our crepes for a number of different events from birthday parties, weddings and corporate events. For example, last year we were booked by "Toys R Us" where we got to test our catering trailer and it proved very successful. We have gotten more business just from people seeing us at that event!
