What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide an accurate quote, we require the date, location, start/finish times of the event (not just when you want the music played). It also helps if you let us know what would make your event special, so we can tailor our service to fully meet your needs. For instance, you may require a special style of music or room lighting.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't just book the cheapest supplier you find. There are plenty of stories around about cheap cowboys in this industry. A good DJ should have experience, public-liability insurance, good equipment which is annually safety-tested and a wide range of music to suit you and your guest's tastes. Also, ask for testimonials and/or references to check that they are genuine.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I got into the DJ business because I love music in all of its forms. I love to meet new people in a social environment and I get a real kick out of seeing people enjoying themselves as a result of my efforts. I never wanted a desk job, and this is my full-time profession.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

So far we have had two bookings through Add to Event. The most memorable, was a lovely cosy wedding reception in a converted barn near Hatfield. Both of the families and all of the guests were really nice to deal with and they really knew how to enjoy themselves. We had people dancing all night long, and they didn't want us to stop.
