What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, and a potential venue, along with the age range of the guests, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable party for your event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider about the service they are offering, I wouldn't want my hair cut by someone who didn't know much about hair so why have a party from a provider who doesn't know much about my kind of music! Ask the provider about what musical genres and age groups that they cater for. What else can they bring to the party? Perhaps decorations or knowledge of specific musical genres.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

CKDJ came to life primarily from a love of music. I have always been a fan of a wide range of musical genres and eras, I'm also a people person and good at communicating, asking the right questions and finding out what it is that clients are looking for from their night is important to me, this way I can plan an event that is personal and that suits what you and your guests are looking to get from the night.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I regularly get asked to do weddings and also the '30 plus' age range and the feedback that I get from these clients is amazing, they all tell me how nice it is to have a non-cheesy DJ who understands the family audience as well as those over a 'certain age' who want to hear something from their era alongside the more up to date dance-able tunes!
A party that sticks in my mind is a wedding that I did for the winners of the 'take a break' magazine 'Bride of the year'. It was a beautiful event in a huge marquee and with a packed dance floor all night. At the end of the night, I was chuffed to supply an encore!
