What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We need as much information as possible to make sure our quote is correct. Most importantly, please include the number of guests, the location of the event and how many hours you require. Our prices are based on the number of hours and extras don't cost more so if you require more lights, a larger system, karaoke, smoke machine, bubble machine etc just make a note on the booking form.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You need to know that your DJ is going to provide a great nights entertainment, so ask them for proof. Previous reviews are a great way to see how good your DJ is. Ask them to provide reviews. Also, make sure your DJ is up to date with their equipment. These days its all on computers - if a DJ uses anything else then they aren't the one for you. Finally speak to your DJ in person. Make sure you love them in advance, because if you don't like them then you will hate them at your event.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started Karaoke and Disco IOW as Daves Karaoke and Disco, 3 years ago after working for other companies across the Isle of Wight. After dealing with faulty equipment for years, and seeing the ridiculous prices that they charge, I decided it was time for a change. I love what I do and I feel that each and every client should benefit from a great night without paying the crazy prices.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have had many bookings through Add to Event now and the process is great and very simple. Out of all of the bookings I have had, one stands out. It was a wedding and the happy couple had just started planning everything. The more we spoke the more I managed to help them out. I suggested the venue and the caterers they used and on the big day they invited me to join them for their sit down meal. The evening was perfect and the dance floor was rammed all night. Best part, was that not only did 2 family members book me for their parties later in the year, but the happy couple booked me for both of their birthday parties next year. Personally I am looking forward to another great few nights with them. Awesome party all round.
