What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
The first two things we need to know to provide a quote for a customer are the date & venue of the event. Next, it is very helpful if the customer could let us know the occasion. Is it a wedding, birthday party or corporate event?
Any additional information about the event is always greatly appreciated. For example what time would you like the DJ to start & finish? Is the venue outside or in a barn or marquee? Is there a theme or vision that you would like us to fit in with? What kinds of music would you like? The more information we receive about the event the easier it will be to provide a suitable quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The first thing we suggest you do when looking for a DJ is to check out their website, social pages, profile & reviews. It is important to make sure that you choose a reliable, professional, full-time DJ. Always ask potential providers about their PAT testing & PLI status as most venues will want to see these documents. Asking the company to give you a call before booking is also recommended as it can be really helpful to ask questions directly & make sure the provider is a good fit.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Having been a DJ playing clubs, radio, festivals, parties & weddings for many years, I decided to start Popup Party DJ as a way to bring all of these areas together & provide something new & exciting in the mobile DJ space. I saw that many people wanted their wedding or party DJ to provide a bespoke service going way beyond what had previously been expected of a DJ. The main aim was always to make our customers feel involved with the whole process so that we could deliver exactly what they were looking for.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
Add to Event really has consistently provided some of the best bookings we have taken. There are many to choose from but the wedding of Carina & Gregg in summer 2022 was a perfect event for us. Everything came together perfectly for one of the most fantastic weddings I have taken part in & one big reason for that was the ability to use the built-in messaging system on Add to Event to communicate, from the pre-booking stage right through to the week of the wedding. Not only was the event the perfect match for us, giving us the chance to really shine while providing our service, but the happy couple & all of their guests had the most fantastic evening. Add to Event has become an important part of how we fill our calendar and I always recommend it to other providers I meet.
