What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to be able to offer a full competitive quote, we will need to know as much information about your event as possible. We will need to know the date so we can check availability, the venue so we can get an idea of how easy or difficult the load in will be, and the start and finish time of the event. We will always arrive at least 90 minutes before the actual start time, so please don't say earlier than you need to. It will also be useful to know how many guests you expect to be in attendance and if there is any particular theme to the event. We will then be able to reply with a full competitive quote for our services.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Please ensure you check that the DJ has legitimate online reviews from previous customers. It is also a good idea to check that they carry back-up equipment with them at all times; if a DJ does not have a backup laptop or speaker, then they are asking for trouble if something goes wrong during an event - don't be a victim of this. One more thing, a lot of venues will not allow a DJ to perform unless they show their PLI and PAT certificates beforehand, so please ensure that your DJ has these certificates before hiring them.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Discorocks DJ Hire was formed in 2010 by a DJ who started out on the mobile circuit in 1996, before moving into the bars and clubs in and around the UK in 2001. Family life came next so the travelling slowed down, giving us the perfect excuse to form another mobile DJ company. The idea initially was to host a handful of events a month, however, this quickly turned into many hundreds throughout the year and as the team grew, we are now a team of 8 professional DJ's with full UK coverage hosting all types of events from weddings to birthday parties.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We are new to this platform. However, in the very short amount of time we have been here, we have already won 2 bookings, the first of which will be next week. I will come back to tell you about that after the event, I'm sure it'll be a good one. I can say that I have used similar sites to this in the past but Add to Event is far more superior. I much prefer the way they work.
