What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

There are a couple of bits of vital information that I need in order to provide a quote that represents the best value and is tailored to their requirements. Firstly the name and postcode of the venue, the number of guests and the start and finish times of the event. A brief outline of what the event is for will enable me to establish what equipment will be required and what options might be available to ensure my quote gives as much relevant information as possible.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, try to establish their reputation and experience, previous client testimonials will help with this. Ask if they have any pictures or videos of previous events. A good indication of professionalism is membership of any trade organisations, this means the supplier is bound by certain standards of operation and safety.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have been DJ'ing since I was fifteen, both in clubs and mobile discos. For a long time, I also worked as a senior manager in record stores all over Europe, so my passion for music has been lifelong. The name "Flex" comes from a nightclub in Vienna where I used to live when I returned to Scotland I decided to go to University and Flex Discotheques was born, initially to help support me while at Uni, but it since has grown into a full-time occupation.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had lots of bookings through Add to Event and would recommend it to both clients and suppliers. The variety of bookings I've had makes it quite difficult to pick a favourite or one that has stood out against the others. Each event has its own challenges and personality. I have had corporate work for Airline launches at an Airport Departure Gate and huge Award ceremonies in an International Conference Centre, intimate DIY weddings and grand receptions in large country estates all have been of equal importance and equally successful.
