What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For the quote to be comprehensive I need the event date, exact venue location, the time the party runs from and until (I decide how early I come to set up which is not included with price) and a brief explanation of the type of event such as 18th birthday, engagement, wedding etc.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look carefully and consider the best option for what you need. The personal details count. I have just reduced my prices dramatically and cut out my £30 admin fee. Although I have not been doing this for very long, I have extensive music knowledge due to being a musician myself and know exactly what people of all sorts of ages want to hear to have a good night!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started by posting various parties just for my family, I have slowly got myself the gear to become a mobile DJ. I started doing some events for friends and it took off from there really. I do it because I enjoy it and feel like I know the best music to provide on the night and not just what I want. I also enjoy watching people have a good time.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I haven't been using Add to Event for long, I've only done one DJ event from here and it went very smoothly! It was a children's 5th birthday party for a couple of hours on a weekend, however the kids loved it and the atmosphere was bouncing. A fun day for all who went! I get regular messages about a new event in the area and hope to get more work through Add to Event very soon. Enjoying it so far!
