AG Event Management
AG Event Management provides a passionate and friendly team of event delivery specialists and wants to ensure your event is the best it can be. Read on to find out how the company started and some very useful insights into how to choose your event planner.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Every event is bespoke, nothing is the same so at AG Event Management we try and obtain a comprehensive overview of the client's event prior to offering a quotation. As a starting point, we'd look to know the type of event, the estimated number of guests and any potential venue. We'd then want to discuss a bit more about the specifics, what their theme is, what entertainment they need, how the catering will work.
Prior to quoting, we have a new client questionnaire which we complete over the phone to give us a good understanding of the event. From this information, we use our experience and contacts to put together a suitable quotation.
As a rough guide, we usually charge between 10 and 15% of the organiser's total budget but as mentioned previously, this is very much dependant on the clients' requirements.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Event Management providers should be extremely knowledgable about all aspects of an event - From catering to entertainment through to venue finding and on the day management. If you're looking for someone to organise your event, it's a really good start if they ask you lots of questions. This may feel like you're being interviewed but they need to make sure they understand your requirements and also understand you. For Wedding Planning this is especially important because it's going to be one of the biggest days of their lives.
Choose an Event Management provider who has lots of experience and can demonstrate this. There are lots of Event Planners out there who have started up having just decided one day that this is what they want to do but have little experience within the industry. In the same way, you may feel like you're being interviewed, make sure you ask your Event Planner lots of questions and get to know them too. You'll be speaking to them a lot over the next few months.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
AG stands for Adam Gary. In a nutshell, we're two friends, both who have been involved in a range of events since the age of 16. We were both in full-time jobs, somewhat unrelated to the event world, and had the desire to create something that was ours and could take us into our older years. We were both incredibly passionate about taking projects from the planning stages through to executing them and enjoyed the variable nature of Events. So we decided to start up AG Event Management. We're passionate about high-quality customer service, good organisation and a desire to produce something that stands up to our client's expectations.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We're relatively new to Add to Event. A friend of ours owns a marquee business and told us over a beer one day that he had obtained lots of business from Add to Event. So decided to give it a go. So far we've seen a number of enquiries come directly from this site with 2 confirmed bookings so far.
