What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order for me to give an accurate quote for your event, I would just need to know, how long you require my services, how many people you expect to be painted and where your event will be held. Once I have this information I can provide an accurate figure.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It’s important to know that the painter has the best quality professional products. These will be tested and approved for use on skin. Your painter should be insured and have some sort of professional support in developing their skills, this could be training, membership to a professional body or being part of a group. I would like to know their skills with working with children are good as well, you have to be patient and kind in this job!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I have worked with children for many years as a teacher. I love interacting and supporting children. I am also a very creative person so face painting was the perfect combination for me. I started face painting when I was quite young, painting at Notting Hill Carnival and at schools and small events. I took some time out when my children came along but picked my brushes back up about 8 years ago. I returned and trained with some of the best in the industry. SheydnShimmer is my passion and I aim to give the best all-around experience whether you are young or young at heart.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have had some wonderful bookings through Add to Event! Lots of happy smiling children and adults. Recently I painted at the welcoming party for a newborn! There was so much joy and happiness at the event and the children really had some great ideas for their faces! It was a wonderful event!
