What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For the most accurate quote, it's really helpful to know the location details of the event, the estimated number of guests/approximate footfall if it's a larger event and the date and times. I tend to use public transport quite a lot if I can so it's also really helpful for me to know if the host can provide a table and a couple of chairs for me to use!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always check that the person has relevant insurance, this is very important! Also, check what products they are using, most of the products I use are not available on the high street, they are professional grade and have to be purchased from certain suppliers. The better quality the products, the better quality the outcome is. I would also ask to see examples of their work so I knew what kind of standard they could provide for my event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Face painting is my way of escaping real life and entering a fantasy world! I love being creative and indulging my artistic side. I really missed art when I finished college and never went into any kind of artistic employment, so I decided I wanted to do something to fill that gap. Face painting has done that for me, I absolutely love it!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I had a booking for a little boy's 6th birthday through Add to Event and it was great! All the guests were so nice, there was only a small number of people in attendance so I got to paint everyone and also give them multiple glitter tattoos each too! Everyone was very glittery and very happy, it was a lovely party and made a change from having lots of people. It was really nice to be able to take my time and speak with each person, sometimes I'm so busy I don't have a chance to have a conversation with any of the children so that made a really nice change. I'd definitely recommend Add to Event as a very useful website for both party organisers and party suppliers as it makes it really easy to make and get relevant requests.
