What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide an accurate quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, the number of hours they require and the location of the event or party. It is also helpful to know whether it's an indoor or outdoor event, as well as the type of event it is.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would start by looking not only at the artwork displayed, but also check for any reviews and who they have been reviewed by. Most importantly, does the face painter mention health and safety, reassuring you that they have a DBS and child protection policy in place. Will they provide risk assessments and a copy of their Public Liability Insurance? It is also work considering using a team of face painters so that you know that if your face painter should fall sick there is always someone else to back them up without you even knowing - one less headache for you!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Our journey started with the decision to become registered childminders so that we could work around our young family. With Steve’s history in sales, we also decided to try our hand at selling arts and craft kits - starting at a local event called Kidzstuff in 2008. Impressed by our hard work and determination, the event organiser asked if we could face paint, and the rest is history.

I regularly recommend Add to Event to customers and small business owners. I actually have a link set up in the reply I send out when we are fully booked, as it offers such a brilliant service.
