Silvers Street Food provides street food from one of their purpose-built trailers. Choose from traditional fish and chips, Mexican, burgers, hotdogs or steak sandwiches. They travel to a wide range of locations throughout the Country providing food for corporate events and all types of celebrations.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a quote to a customer we need to know, the event date, location, a rough idea of numbers (obviously the quote could be amended if the numbers change) and the type of event. We would also need information on accessibility for a car and trailer, if there is a flat area of land to serve from and if there is any water or electricity (we are fully sufficient but need to know if we need to bring water and a generator). From this, we can use our expertise to organise and plan a successful service for you.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask the supplier about the products they will be serving. We serve quality products, real chips with our fish and chips, fresh fish, if you wish to pay for a premium product, or good quality frozen if you’re on a budget, but we will always be open to what you will be served, so always ask. Secondly where they will be serving from? Is it a gazebo, or trailer, eg if they are fully booked on trailers will they then revert to sending an inferior service equipment to serve from, make sure you get what you pay for. Thirdly, what experience do they and their staff have with that particular menu type. And finally look at their most recent reviews and ask if you can speak to a recent event organiser to establish if they were completely satisfied.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Having previously run 2 successful fish and chip shops and then worked as a mobile caterer for a street food company, I decided to take this experience to the next level and move out of my gazebo, invest in some quality equipment and provide this excellent service and food from a beautifully equipped airstream trailer. I’ve linked up with another experienced caterer and together we formed Silvers Street Food and provide top-quality street food from one of our bespoke trailers.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Being quite new to the Add to Event platform, we are now finding our feet and events are flooding in! Our most memorable to date was a mini festival put together by a corporate company on the edge of Lake Windermere. The company went all out for the festival vibe, booking us for our burger menu from the airstream trailer, alongside another great food provider serving delicious pizzas. They had live music from the back of a trailer hooked onto a tractor, a bar and several other festival stalls. We were made to feel part of this great event and we’re offered cakes, pizza, drinks and working alongside some great music. Someone once said, ‘if you find a job you love, then you’ll never have to work’, and that’s certainly how it felt. A great event with lovely people and some fantastic feedback. Thank you!
