What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The services we provide can be tailored to our client's needs but to give us a starting point we need the event date, the venue, the rough timings and the number of guests is always useful to know. Obviously budget can be an important consideration for a lot of people so having some realistic indication of what a customer is looking to spend can help both them and us. Using the details we receive we put together a range of options for consideration. Occasionally we'll suggest a totally different activity just to give options where we know space, time or budget may be an issue.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always try and give as much notice as possible. We don't charge a deposit to book any of our activities allowing people to book a long way in advance in the knowledge their requirements are secure and they haven't got to accept what's available on short notice. We always try and people to set a reasonable budget - too many times we get calls from distraught people whose supplier has let them down last minute where they've shopped on price alone. Sometimes it's the boring details around valid insurances, electrical testing or risk assessments that suddenly become very important so check for the boring detail as well as all the exciting bits!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Event34 was born out of years of working for corporate companies and organising events of all shapes and sizes and then working for events companies. I always felt that there was a disconnect between the details that an organising company have and the event companies themselves. Event34 offer a high service level to our clients without over-complicating the planning for them as we've seen it from both sides. Events are our passion and we love nothing more than delivering people even more than they imagined possible.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We're getting more bookings through the Add to Event platform as it grows and matures. We're now at the point where we're cutting down our Google ads as a result. We always talk to other event suppliers at functions and it's great to meet other Add to Event users and swap tips and tricks. At a recent corporate summer event every supplier the client used was sourced through the platform and we all worked together to ensure we dodged the showers and provided them with a fantastic event. When I come across people who don't use the platform I always suggest they look at it as a way of expanding their businesses.
