Matt's Generators supply generators for any events in the Essex area, diesel units that are well maintained and quiet. They can provide for weddings, music festivals, country shows, community events, inflatable companies and show organisers.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We like to provide an all inclusive quote (so price quoted includes fuel and delivery cables set up etc)
We like to know the delivery date & time, collection date & time, location,
what you are powering, and what type of event it is.
We may quote you a larger generator than you ask for but we would reduce the cost to reflect its use,
please let us know if the generator is going any further away than 25mtrs than where power is needed
and let us know if you need 13a sockets, 16a or 32a,
Failing that just call us and we can chat about your needs. We now offer hybrid generators for times when you need power continuously but it wouldn't be economical to leave the generator running.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask for their service records, and PAT paperwork, you wouldn't drive a car for 2 days straight without checking the water level & oil first so why would you leave a generator running during your event without it being well maintained.
Ask if their price is all inclusive, and ask if they are going to provide all the cables you need to plug in to domestic items.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started because I had friends in the event industry and they used to rent generators from suppliers who weren't on call 24/7 so I thought I could offer a better, more competitive service where customers know the final cost from the start and on top of this my phone is never off.
I have had the New Years eve 8pm call when they could't get someone out to look at the faulty generator they hired, and since then I believe if we hire a unit we should be a call away, and if necessary on-site as soon as possible.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
This site has helped me get bookings, unfortunately some are further away from me than I would like to travel,
but I'm hoping being with Add to Event will grow my business especially in 2021.
