What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote for a customer, we would like to know the event date and the type of event that they require a mobile bar for. We also would like to know the estimated number of guests, the venue and if there is water or electricity available and if there are any special requirements like drinks packages, vouchers or a cash bar etc.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly ask the provider about the type of mobile bar they are offering and if you can customise it to your requirements, for example, can it be used as a gin bar/cocktail bar.
I would also recommend you check the bar has a food hygiene rating, public liability insurance and that they are able to apply for a temporary event notice for you - they legally cannot serve alcohol without this so it is really important to ensure nothing goes wrong for your event.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
The idea of Gert Lush Event Bars first became an idea when we were planning our own wedding and led to me studying tourism and hospitality management at Plymouth University. As my course came to an end, we started work on converting an old horsebox into a mobile bar and Gert Lush Event Bars were born!
One of the big things we found when planning our wedding was the inflated prices we were charged just because it was a wedding and we wanted to offer couples a fantastic service that was value for money too. Personally, my favourite part of the job is working with couples to personalise their own bar/drinks/ cocktails to give them the day of their dreams.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We are quite new to using Add to Event and have not completed a booking through this platform yet, but we find the process of quoting for events straight forward and we have a couple of quotes that are due to be confirmed in the near future.
