What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote, we need to know the event date, the location of the event, what type of event it is, how they wish payment process to work, the realistic number of attendees, and if it is an established event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would ask questions about their menu and proposed pricing. I would want to see photos of their vehicle, a good looking high-quality unit will reflect favourably with your event. I would ask if the supplier has a risk assessment, public liability, membership of trade body and a hygiene rating. I would also check their reviews.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Our business is a traditional family business dating back to the late 1960s. We are second generation and we have run the business since 1984 on a part time basis. Circumstances for us have recently changed allowing us to dedicated time and resources to this business. This year we have invested in a new high quality vehicle, we have re-branded and we are actively promoting our business through social media and advertising.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had a recent booking for a nursery school which we attended. We had agreed on a one off cost. The event was an open day so it was important to visitors to the school to make that day memorable for visitors. I'm not sure what they were expecting to see but the organisers were so impressed with quality of our new vehicle, how clean it was and how professionally we served customers. They booked us straight away for another forthcoming event .
