Ice Cream Van Hire in East Sussex

Irresistible Ice Cream is a family-run business that works from a 1975 converted ice cream van. Covering a 25 mile radius of Lewes and East Sussex (but able to travel further for the right event), they serve both scooped and soft whipped ice cream.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide an accurate quote, we need just four things. We need to know where the event you are holding is, we need to know how long you need us (weddings are usually a 2 hour window), what sort of service you are looking for and how you are paying for this (is it customers paying or is the event organiser paying) and finally how many people you are catering for.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I believe that what you should be seeking is someone that believes in that personal touch, who is selling a good product as well as providing a reliable service. All of these is what we believe we offer. Some retailers will sell a poor quality product, which then proves an instant turn off for your guests or customers.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I was encouraged into the business by a good friend of mine who also has an ice cream van. I have previously worked in an area where you see the worst in people and wanted to bring happiness to people by serving ice cream. After all, who isn’t happy when they are eating ice cream?! I believe that in order to make things go with a swing, it is important that the customer is at the centre of what you do. Again, this brings happiness to the event.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event is a great way of attracting business, which in some cases then become permanent annual bookings for the likes of fetes & fairs. The most recent event I can think of, was at a premier college in the South East where we served 135 people on an evening of celebration. We had a tremendous review by the staff member that booked us, which has lead to interest from other people who have attended the event. If I cannot fulfil a request, I always point them to Add to Event - simples!
