What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, we need the event date, number of guests, a brief explanation of the type of event. What utilities are provided ie is electricity available. Is the venue easily accessible for vehicles. If possible the venue and finally will it be an indoor or out door event. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable equipment list.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask the provider about the product they are offering, you want ice cream from someone who knows about the ice cream they are serving. Ask the provider about their menu and choices of product and why they are serving what they are serving. Check hygiene and insurance details too.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Hyacinth ice cream came about after a family wedding. We decided to purchase and restore a vintage ice cream van and supply delicious quality ice cream along with a great service. It has always been my dream to run my own business and provide customers with great service and enhancing their special day.
