What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to provide a comprehensive quote, I would need the event date and time, the number of guests and the address and postcode of the venue. It is also useful to know the length of time the organiser would like me to be on site. Using this information, I can then put together a detailed and accurate quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise the customer to ask about the menu and to ask who supplies the ice cream. My supplier is Marine Ices, who have been making ice cream for over 90 years, so they definitely know their gelato! If the organiser knows of any guests who may have allergies, then this is also important. Finally, I would ask about whether the provider has public liability insurance, as most venues will require this.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started Ice Baby 13 years ago, and have been serving ice cream at weddings, parties and corporate events ever since! Ice Baby combines my love of delicious Italian gelato and my passion for events. Every booking is different, which keeps things fun, and I love that what I serve makes people happy!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
A memorable booking is from two years ago when I was booked to attend a picnic for 300 people on a farm in beautiful countryside. It was a blazing hot day and everyone enjoyed having ice cream to cool down. The organiser was so happy with the service that she booked me again the following year. I would recommend Add to Event to suppliers, as it helps to make your business more visible to a wider audience.
