Here they share some handy tips on what to look for when booking a similar provider for your event, along with details of one of their bookings.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a quote we would need to know the date, location of the venue, start and finishing times along with a number of guests attending.
Would you prefer vintage or modern ice cream van?
Would you prefer dairy scooped flavours or Mr Whippy soft ice cream?
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly I would look for a reputable ice cream van company and not someone who has just started out in the business as they seem to double book and cancel smaller bookings close to the event leaving it very stressful for you.
Food hygiene certificates are important along with the necessary insurance.
Are the vans environment-friendly, euro 6 is currently the latest with low emissions.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I was born into the ice cream business and grew up cleaning and stocking dads vans. I started out on my own in 1987 and have never looked back I love my job and am proud of my small fleet of new and vintage ice cream vans. We have won diploma awards for quality and a finalist as mobile of the year 2020
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have had several bookings through Add to Event but one in particular went extremely well.
It was during the heatwave a last-minute enquiry appeared for us and we quickly replied. Booked almost instantly and arrived at the venue that night.
It was a corporate staff fun day at a night club, everyone loved the quirky ice cream van sat outside serving free ice creams.
The organiser left us a fantastic review and hope to work with them again next time.
